In this interview, we are talking to Jason Gow, the City of Powell River’s senior urban planner about a new bylaw related to urban farming.

The proposed bylaw would permit agricultural business in the city on parcels smaller than 1 acre in size, which is currently not permitted. We hear from Jason on why this change has been proposed, and what it will mean for urban farming.

The main focus of this 85-page report is to assess the food security of the region.

But what is food security? Vanessa Sparrow joins us in the studio to talk about the report and food security in the region.
